HARFORD COUNTY HOUSING AGENCY
The Housing Agency works to provide affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income residents of Harford County. The Agency administers a range of Federal, State, and County funded programs providing opportunities for affordable home ownership, loans and grants for special needs housing programs, rental assistance, renter protection through Livability Code enforcement, first-time homebuyer, housing preservation, foreclosure prevention, economic mobility, family self-sufficiency, and financial literacy.
The Housing Agency injects more than 7 million dollars annually into the economy through their HUD program of subsidizing low income residents’ rent. The Agency’s rental assistance programs provide decent, safe and affordable housing free from discrimination, promote freedom of housing choice and spatial deconcentration, provide incentives to private property owners to rent to lower income families, and promote economic self-sufficiency. The Housing Agency recognizes that neighborhoods are mini economies and works diligently with the Federal government, State government, business community, and nonprofits to support our neighborhood.
